  Ami sushi is my favorite sushi place in orange. Even though I've moved to Irvine and then to downtown LA, I've made it a point to drive out to get Ami for takeout. Back when I was student at Chapman, I used to come here one a week.
  
  Ami does well with its simple sushi's for reasonable prices. My ultimate favorite is the spicy salmon -- this is a dish that I haven't really found anywhere else.
  
  I typically get:
  1. Spicy salmon roll
  2. Spicy tuna roll
  3. Baked salmon roll
  
  For the best of both worlds, get the Alaskan roll which is a spicy tuna topped with salmon.
  
  I can't really speak to any other foods besides the sushi. The place is small but I've never had issues with a wait.

  Food is great! Just don't go after 7pm. They don't seem to like late diners.
  We have been enjoying Ami Sushi for around 13 years. The fish is always fresh and the rice is perfect. Usually we are greeted by the sushi chefs and made to feel very welcome. Our last visit however didn't go that way.
  We arrived just after 8pm. We asked to sit at the bar. There were 3 sushi chefs, and there was 1 other party at the bar finishing up. I tried to engage in some conversation with the chefs and it was not reciprocated. We placed our order by handing the sushi chef our sushi order. By 8:20 we had been given almost our entire order. Edamame, miso soup , 2 rolls, 9 orders of sushi. The chef was looking at the clock. They were in such a rush they missed our order of yellowtail. At 8:30 my Salmon Kama arrived. The chef handed it to me and then all  of the chefs disappeared for the next 10 minutes. The waitresses started moping the floor which added to the rushed atmosphere. A party of 3 arrived and sat at the bar. I was so relieved that this would give me time to finish my beer. It's not just about the food it's also about the experience.

  Saw this place driving by, food is ok nothing memorable. Tried the spring rolls, vegetable tempura and a couple rolls.  What gives this place the low rating is our server.
  
  Not helpful at all. We chose to sit outside and it bothered her because she now had to come outside to serve us and said it was too cold.
  
  Once our food came out she never came back to check on us for refills, to ask how things were, we even had to walk inside even to pay while inside table service was offered.
  
  Meh.
  
  There are a few other places around and I'll just eat somewhere else next time. Not a big deal.
  
  Food was just ok. I would not recommend.

  Order was wrong. Lady on the phone kept on arguing that they had given me what I order and as you may see I never order that fried food and I had actually order shrimp tempura roll.
  Pointless in coming back at this place.

  This is the only sushi place I ever order from because the food is so good and for the price is good too. I've tried many things off their menu but I usually get this combo box which is so worth it and you can share with someone because it comes with so much food  it's worth the try
